Poland's financial supervisor

The Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego supervises banks, brokerage houses (domy maklerskie), investment funds, insurers and the capital market. It is the home regulator of XTB, one of Europe's largest listed CFD brokers, and of Polish brokerage houses providing access to the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Public warnings

The KNF's public warnings list names entities it has reported to prosecutors for suspected unauthorised activity. It is one of the most useful checks for Polish-speaking investors, since many scams target Poland in Polish.

Protection

Clients of Polish brokerage houses are covered by the KDPW compensation scheme (up to €20,100 in total), and consumers can take disputes to the Rzecznik Finansowy (Financial Ombudsman).
