Financial information can cost people money when it is wrong. These are the standards we hold our content to.
Independence
- Editorial content is decided by the editorial team. Commercial partners cannot commission, approve or edit guides, reviews or data.
- Partners are labelled wherever they appear. See how we make money.
- We do not accept payment for reviews, rankings, inclusion in the register or changes to data.
Sources
We rely on primary sources wherever possible: legislation and regulatory texts, regulators' registers and publications, compensation-scheme and tax-authority websites, central-bank data and firms' own legal documents. We link to these sources in the text so readers can check them.
Accuracy and updates
- Every guide shows the date of its last update.
- Facts that change regularly – compensation limits, tax rates, leverage rules – are reviewed at least once a year and whenever we learn of a change. Country pages state the month the facts were last checked.
- Where we could not confirm a figure from an official source, we say so and link to the source instead of guessing.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and, for material errors, note the correction on the page. Report errors via the contact page or the form on any broker profile.
What our content is – and isn't
Our guides are general information for readers in Europe. They are not personal investment, tax or legal advice, and they do not take account of your circumstances. Trading leveraged products is high-risk; we say so clearly and we do not describe trading as a way to earn a reliable income.
Use of AI tools
We may use software tools, including AI, to help research, draft or check content. Every published page is reviewed by a member of the editorial team, who is responsible for its accuracy.
Authors
Content is produced by the editorial team. Each guide names its author and date.
