Overview
Exness was founded in 2008 and reports very high trading volumes, mainly from clients in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East, served by entities licensed in the Seychelles, Mauritius, the British Virgin Islands, South Africa, Kenya and elsewhere.
Which entity serves you
European residents fall under Exness (Cy) Ltd, licensed by CySEC, which must apply ESMA's leverage caps and other protections. UK residents fall under the FCA-authorised entity. If a website or affiliate offers you "unlimited" or 1:2000 leverage as an EU resident, it is steering you to an offshore entity.
Our view
Many Europeans search for Exness because of its global marketing. The EU entity is a regulated option; the global offers are not meant for EU residents, and taking them means giving up EU protections.
Licences on record
Brands often operate several companies. The one that onboards you depends on where you live, and that company's regulator decides your protection. Confirm the entity on the official register before you deposit.

- Check warning lists for look-alike names: IOSCO I-SCAN covers alerts from regulators worldwide.
- Never download remote-access software or move money because someone "from the broker" phoned you. How clone-firm scams work.
