Website blackouts
Since 2019 CONSOB has had the power to order Italian internet service providers to block access to websites offering financial services without authorisation. It announces new blackouts regularly; hundreds of websites of unauthorised brokers, crypto platforms and "trading robots" have been blocked.
The ACF
CONSOB runs the Arbitro per le Controversie Finanziarie, a free alternative dispute-resolution body for investors in disputes with Italian intermediaries about investment services.
