The Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores supervises securities markets, investment firms and collective investment schemes.
CFD warnings
The CNMV requires firms selling CFDs to Spanish retail clients to deliver specific warnings about their complexity and risk, going beyond the EU baseline, and it regularly publishes warnings about unauthorised "chiringuitos financieros".
Protection
Clients of Spanish investment firms are covered by FOGAIN up to €100,000 – one of the highest limits in Europe. The CNMV's investor assistance service handles complaints against supervised firms.
