France's markets regulator
The Autorité des marchés financiers supervises financial markets, listed companies and the conduct of investment services providers. Prudential authorisation of banks and investment firms is handled by the ACPR; both use the REGAFI register.
A strict line on speculative products
France bans electronic advertising of highly speculative financial products such as CFDs and forex to retail clients, and the AMF regularly publishes blacklists of websites and firms offering forex, crypto-assets, precious metals and other investments without authorisation. The AMF was also an early mover on crypto, operating a registration regime for digital asset service providers (PSAN) before MiCA.
